Where Collin Detention Releases Go
The Collin County Detention Facility is the county's main adult booking and detention center. Its Admissions and Release Section is the primary point for people entering or leaving. A person may return to the community after posting bond, receiving a time-served or sentence disposition, or obtaining another valid release order. The county release report may describe the event as Personal Recognizance, Served Time Only, Surety Bond, Bond With Conditions, Probation, or another maintained value. Those examples came from a live report and are not a fixed list.
Other departures are transfers, not community releases. The person may go to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, another jail, a federal authority, or immigration custody. The official workbook has included “Released to Immigration.” Read the release type and request the destination if the row is unclear. A missing name on the live jail roster proves only that current county custody was not found under that search. It does not show where the person went.
Confirm a Collin County Jail Release
Collin County offers two official recent-release channels with different clocks. The inmate-information page links to Online Judicial Search and states that it covers current inmates plus people released within the prior rolling 24 hours. The Sheriff Store Front creates an Excel report for one through seven completed calendar days. - Match the name and SO number, then read the release date, time, and type instead of relying on roster absence.

- Submit a narrow written sheriff request when the event is older, the destination is uncertain, or an official copy is needed.

How Collin Detention Operates
The Collin County Sheriff's Office Detention Bureau operates this adult county facility. The jail was constructed in March 1994 as a direct-supervision facility. Admissions and Release handles the main intake and exit flow, with public-facing property, bond, and release counters nearby. These roles explain why no single counter holds every answer. Detention staff handle present custody and physical processing. Open Records handles existing sheriff records. Court clerks maintain case instruments. A TDCJ transfer moves the inquiry to the state system. The local release row is the best first proof of the physical county event, while the case explains why it was authorized.

A workbook field is not a final court disposition. For example, a surety bond describes the route out of jail while the charge continues. Use the docket for later case results.
Bond Releases at Collin Detention
Bonds are accepted around the clock at the Justice Center bond window. Collin County distinguishes cash, surety, personal, and qualified pretrial release bonds. The pretrial release fee is the greater of 3 percent or $20 and is nonrefundable. The surety processing fee is $15 per bond, capped at $30 for all Class B-and-above bonds posted at that time.
A person held at a municipal jail on a Collin County charge may sign the bond there and have it brought to the sheriff for processing. That city-jail route is one reason an arrest may never appear as a Collin County Detention Facility release. The originating police department retains its police record, while the Collin County court case can continue.
Note: A posted bond starts release processing but does not supply a promised exit time or end the pending case.
Property After a Collin Release
Collin County publishes unusually precise property rules. While a person remains in custody, bulk property may be released all at once on one occasion from 6 to 9 a.m. daily, provided a change of clothes remains. Valuables may be authorized as an all-or-nothing release at any time. Property left after a TDCJ transfer may be collected by the notified designee from 6 to 9 a.m. daily.
The transfer-property deadline matters. If the designated person does not claim it within 15 days, the county says it is donated. That process is tied to a transfer, not proof that the former detainee entered the community. Follow the directions given by the facility rather than assuming the person can retrieve it later.
The jail FAQ also describes a time-sensitive medication route. A released person seeking qualifying medication must contact Medical within 48 hours. Calls are accepted around the clock, and an eligible chronic-care or mental-health prescription may cover 30 days without refills when the selected pharmacy opens. Over-the-counter and controlled substances are excluded, and the released person bears pharmacy pickup cost.

Immigration Transfers from Collin Detention
The county's own release workbook has used the value “Released to Immigration.” Collin County also documented that its sheriff signed a 287(g) Jail Enforcement Model agreement on January 5, 2026. Together, those facts make immigration transfer a local, verifiable branch of the release workflow rather than a generic warning.
When that type appears, do not call the event community release. Search the ICE Online Detainee Locator with the required A-number and country of birth, or with exact biographical information. ICE says its locator can include current detainees and people released from ICE custody during the preceding 60 days. A missing result can reflect a mismatch, transfer, removal, older event, or lack of ICE custody.

When Collin Detention Releases People
No official physical-release timetable, exit-door map, family waiting rule, or public transit instruction was located for the Collin County Detention Facility. Admissions and Release is the documented primary exit point, and the property, bond, and release counters are nearby. Those facts do not create a guaranteed hour for an individual departure.
The jail FAQ says magistration normally occurs twice daily, roughly from 8 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 5 p.m., depending on the judge. Those are court-processing windows. They must not be represented as release times because additional bonds, holds, paperwork, and receiving-agency steps may remain.
